Description: EARLY ISLAMIC, Arab-Sasanian. al-Hajjaj bin Yusuf. 694-713 AD. AR Drachm (4.05 gm, 3h). DA(P) mint. Dated YE 71 (AH 83; 702/3 AD). Sasanian-style bust right with winged crown, Pahlevi inscription surrounding; four stars and crescents around bust, in the margin four equally spaced stars and crescents (the lower flanked by \ \); bismillah in lower right, MY(?) in Pahlevi in lower left / Fire altar flanked by attendants; date to left, mint to right, both in Pahlevi, MY(?) in Pahlevi by base, in the margin four equally spaced stars and crescents (the upper with a pellet). Walker, Arab-Sassanian -; SICA 1, p. 29; Album 36. Good VF. Rare with the governor's name in Pahlevi.
