Description: The Antiquarium was built from 1568 to accommodate the ducal collection of antiquities on the ground floor and library on the upper floor as an extension of the Munich Residenz, and the ground floor was soon converted into a banquet hall. It represents one of the most significant surviving collection buildings of the Renaissance.
