Description: Agincourt Square, Monmouth A statue to Charles Rolls, of Rolls Royce fame, stands in Agincourt Square, Monmouth. Although born in London, his family hailed from near Monmouth and he retained a strong connection with his ancestral home. He was an aviation pioneer and was the first to fly across the Channel to France and back without landing. He died in an aeroplane accident at Bournemouth.
