Description: Dwarf red buckeye is a coastal plain shrub found along streambanks and rich bottomlands of western Tennessee. The species can become a small tree, 3 to 6 m, but is usually a sprawling, multi-stemmed shrub. Bright red inflorescences emerge in late March to May. The "good luck" seeds emerge from the leathery fruits in October. Fayette County, TN
