Description: During the 1990s class 31/4s and 37/4s were assigned some peak hour workings in the north west. Seen here on 30 July 1993 at Wigan Wallgate is 37422 "Robert F. Fairlie" on 1F01, 17:30 Manchester Victoria to Southport. Nicknamed "club trains", these provided a little better quality in Mk1 early Mk2 stock.
