Description: The former site of Alexander Memorial Baptist Church is located at 2709 and 2715 N Street NW in the Georgetown neighborhood of Washington, D.C. The congregation was founded in 1908 after some members left nearby First Baptist Church. The congregation originally met at 1002 26th Street NW then the Odd Fellows Hall at 28th Street and Dumbarton Street before building the church at 2709 N Street NW in 1910. The adjoining building, originally a house constructed in 1810 that was later occupied by Asaph Hall, Angeline Stickney, and Percival Hall, was purchased in 1908 and used as a fellowship hall. The congregation sold the N Street properties in 2014 and moved to a new facility in Upper Marlboro, Maryland. The N Street properties were converted into luxury condominiums. The buildings are contributing properties to the Georgetown Historic District.
