It is also not the Van Ness House, a stone house at Jackson Avenue and Pompton Pine. THIS CIRCA 1900 FARMSTEAD, WITH BARNS, CHICKEN COOP, PRIVY, AND HAND-PUMPED WELL, WAS OWNED BY CARPENTER JESSE VAN NESS, WHOSE FAMILY FARMED THIS LAND SINCE 1713.
