Description: The Boston Public Library, Johnson Building, located on Boylston Street at the corner of Exeter Street immediately to the west of the library's McKim Building, was built from 1967 to 1971 and opened in 1972. It was designed by Philip Johnson in the Modernist style, anticipating some aspects of Postmodern architecture. It was renovated from 2013 to 2016.
