Description: JAPANESE GENERAL KENJI DOIHARA IN CUSTODY. POSSIBLY TAKEN DURING THE WAR CRIMES TRIALS IN TOKYO, WHICH WERE HELD FROM 1946-05 TO 1948-11. GENERAL DOIHARA WAS FOUND GUILTY OF WAR CRIMES INCLUDING ATROCITIES AGAINST PRISONERS OF WAR AND CIVILIANS. GENERAL DOIHARA WAS EXECUTED BY HANGING IN SUGAMO PRISON, TOKYO, ON 1948-12-23.(It is also possible that Doihara has been photographed shortly after he was taken in custody in september 1945. The reason for that assumption is, that he is wearing uniform with rank insignia, but for defendants at the IMTFE this was prohibited.)
