Description: C2-07 VINTAGE (1920 - 1929) A historic meeting between Charles Rolls and Henry Royce culminated in the signing of an agreement whereby CS Rolls & Company, an engineering company, agreed to accept the entire output of Henry Royce Ltd, a fledgling car manufacturer. Both applied stringent standard of quality to their products, and although they remained as separate companies with mutual interests for two years, in March 1906 agreed to sell their cars under the name Rolls-Royce for the first time. Thus was born of the most iconic and enduring prestige marques in motoring history This example with Barker coachwork, is known as the "Nareeb" Ghost, named for the former Nareeb mansion of Kooyong Road in Toorak, Victoria. Originally owned by spinsters Alice and Gertrude Simmons, it was only ever driven by its chauffeur who also doubled as the estate's gardener! Purchased from the estate by the current owner, he is the only owner to have ever driven the car in its 93-year history. As history would have it, the Nareeb Ghost outlived its epynomous home, which was subdivided and now made up of 28 homes in Kooyong Rd, Toorak. (Info from the podium near by) (Overexposed the picture here, I sat on the floor patiently until no one was walking by.)
