Description: This Kendi (sprouted pot) dates from 1660 to 1685. The painted porcelain ware originates from Arita, Japan. It is today located in the Koerner European Ceramic Gallery of UBC’s Museum of Anthropology in Vancouver, Canada. Although the gallery focuses primarily on European art, it contains a generous collection of Asian art too including this object.
