Description: The Colonial Apartments is located at 1305-1315 30th Street NW in the Georgetown neighborhood of Washington, D.C. The adjoining buildings were constructed in 1820 and housed Miss Lydia English's Female Seminary until 1861 when the site was confiscated by the Union Army and converted into a military hospital. The property was later converted into apartments in 1870. The buildings are listed on the District of Columbia Inventory of Historic Sites and are contributing properties to the Georgetown Historic District.
