Description: The house at 12 West 129th Street, between Lenox and Fifth Avenues in the Harlem neighborhood of Manhattan, New York City, was built c.1863, with numerous alterations and additions made since. It was originally a 2 1/2 story residence, with the Moorish-inspired porch added in 1882-83, and a full third story in 1896 when an order of Franciscan sisters took over the property; they also stuccoed the facade.
