Description: 1001 Chestnut Street at the corner of S. 10th Street in the Center City area of Philadelphia was built in 1873 for the New York Mutual Insurance Company, and was designed by Henry Fernbach. Three floors were added in 1890, designed by Philip Roos, and an addition on 10th Street was built in 1902. The building is the last remnant of a number of services for financial companies along Chestnut Street. (Source: Architecture in Philadelphia: A Guide) It is now "The Victory" residential apartments. This is an image of a place or building that is listed on the National Register of Historic Places in the United States of America. Its reference number is 80003615.
