Description: Ottelia acuminata var. crispa is native to Yunnan and Sichuan (Lugu Lake). Apart from the flowers, which float on the surface of the water on sunny days, the stems and leaves live under water. During the blossom season from May to September, the scene of the small white flowers covering the lake is spectacular. Ottelia acuminata var. crispa can live only in extremely pure water and now, because of global pollution problems, Lugu Lake is the only place where it can still survive. Ottelia acuminata var. crispa is edible. Before being a plant protected by the government, it was used as wild vegetables. Thanks to the macro, we can see that the small flowers of Ottelia acuminata var. crispa are very beautiful. Photo taken in Lugu Lake of Yunnan province, China.
