Description: Te Matua Ngahere - 'Father of the Forest', the oldest kauri tree, estimated to be well over 1500 years old, with some estimates suggesting up to 3000 years. Its massive trunk has a diameter of 5 metres (16 ft) and a girth of over 16 metres (52 ft). The trunk is 10 metres (33 ft) tall and the overall height of the tree is 30 metres (98 ft).
