Hong Kong 1967 Leftist riots facts for kids
Hong Kong 1967 Leftist riots were a series of leftist riots under the effect of the Cultural Revolution. At the beginning, there were just strike actions and demonstrations. Later they grew into large-scale demonstrations against British colonial rule. The riots became more violent when the leftists set off bombs in the city. They also resorted to murdering some members of the press who voiced their opposition to the violence. In total there were 51 deaths and 802 injuries were caused in the riots.
