Hector International Airport facts for kids
The Hector International Airport is an air service terminal serving Fargo, North Dakota and Moorhead, Minnesota. The airport was named for Martin Hector. It has no scheduled passenger airline service leaving the country, although it receives its international name for the customs services that is available for aircraft coming from Canada. The airport was an intended destination of Ritchie Valens, Buddy Holly and J.P. "The Big Bopper" Richardson, although the airplane crashed almost immediately after takeoff; the accident took the lives of the three musical performers and the pilot in 1959.
