Gríðr facts for kids
In Norse mythology, Gríðr (Old Norse: "greed", "vehemence, violence" or impetuosity") is a female jötunn and a lover of the god Odin. By Odin, she is the mother of Víðarr, the god of vengeance. When Loki schemed to have Thor killed, she gave Thor a number of magical items, which included a pair of gauntlets known as Járngreipr and a staff, Gríðarvölr.
