Frobisher Bay facts for kids
Frobisher Bay is an inlet of the Labrador Sea in Nunavut, Canada. It is in the southeastern corner of Baffin Island. The capital of Nunavut, Iqaluit, is near the bay. Frobisher Bay is 230 kilometers (140 miles) long and is 40 kilometers (25 miles) wide at its widest point. There are many small islands in the bay.
The bay was discovered in 1576 by Martin Frobisher, an English navigator who was looking for the Northwest Passage.
