Fairmount is a city in Richland County, North Dakota, United States. The population was 343 at the 2020 census. Fairmount was founded in 1884. It is part of the Wahpeton, ND–MN Micropolitan Statistical Area.

Geography
Fairmount is located in southeastern North Dakota on North Dakota Highway 11. It is approximately four miles west of the junction of Minnesota Highway 55 and U.S. Route 75. Fairmount is six miles west of Tenney, Minnesota, 63 miles south of Fargo, and 176 miles northwest of Minneapolis, Minnesota. The village is also 15 miles East of Hankinson and 15 miles south of Wahpeton.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 0.32 square miles (0.83 km2), all land.

2010 census
As of the census of 2010, there were 367 people, 153 households, and 98 families living in the city. The population density was 1,146.9 inhabitants per square mile (442.8/km2). There were 195 housing units at an average density of 609.4 per square mile (235.3/km2). The racial makeup of the city was 94.0% White, 0.3% African American, 1.6% Native American, 0.3% Asian, 1.4% from other races, and 2.5% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 2.7% of the population.
There were 153 households, of which 32.0% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 49.0% were married couples living together, 9.2% had a female householder with no husband present, 5.9% had a male householder with no wife present, and 35.9% were non-families. 32.0% of all households were made up of individuals, and 15.7% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.40 and the average family size was 3.00.
The median age in the city was 37.9 years. 27.2% of residents were under the age of 18; 7.3% were between the ages of 18 and 24; 20.7% were from 25 to 44; 29.1% were from 45 to 64; and 15.5% were 65 years of age or older. The gender makeup of the city was 51.0% male and 49.0% female.
