Ellisville is a village in Fulton County, Illinois, United States. The population was 87 at the 2020 census.

History

Ellisville is named for its founder, Levi D. Ellis.

Geography

Ellisville is located in northwestern Fulton County on the west side of the Spoon River, a south-flowing tributary of the Illinois River. Ellisville is 19 miles (31 km) northwest of Canton and 15 miles (24 km) northeast of Bushnell.

According to the 2021 census gazetteer files, Ellisville has a total area of 0.27 square miles (0.70 km2), all land.

The racial makeup of the village was 98.85% White, 0.00% African American, 1.15% Native American, 0.00% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.00% from other races, and 0.00% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.00% of the population.

There were 40 households, out of which 7.5% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 50.00% were married couples living together, 27.50% had a female householder with no husband present, and 22.50% were non-families. 22.50% of all households were made up of individuals, and 15.00% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
