Democratic consolidation facts for kids
Democratic consolidation is the process by which a new democracy matures. When democracy is consolidated, it is unlikely to revert to totalitarianism without an external shock. Unconsolidated democracies may suffer from rule of law concerns, dubious elections and clientelism (exchange of goods and services for political support).
