Carex canescens L. (syn. C. cinerea Poll.; C. curta Gooden.) is a perennial species of plants in the family Cyperaceae growing in damp forests and wetlands. It is widespread across much of Europe, Asia, Australia, New Guinea, North America, and southern South America.
