The Black Star of Queensland is a large gem sapphire. It is the world's largest star sapphire. It is 733 carats (146.6 g). It was discovered in Queensland in the 1930s. During the 1960s, the Black Star of Queensland was on display at the Smithsonian as part of an exhibition with the Hope Diamond. It was also on display at the Royal Ontario Museum from 2 June to 2 December 2007.
