Balloonfest '86 facts for kids
Balloonfest '86 was a 1986 event in Cleveland, Ohio. Almost one and a half million balloons were released into the sky. It was meant to raise money for United Way. The balloons flew over Lake Erie and areas near there. They caused problems for traffic, an airport, and the United States Coast Guard. Two boaters were found dead from drowning. The city faced lawsuits of millions of dollars in damage.
