Annette (formerly, Palo Prieto) is an unincorporated community in Kern County, California. It is located 6.5 miles (10 km) south-southwest of Orchard Peak, at an elevation of 2198 feet (670 m).
A post office operated at Annette from 1889 to 1930, moving in 1894. The name honors Annette L. Jenness, its first postmaster.
