Allamaye Halina (Arabic: اللاماي هالينا, born 1 January 1967), also known as Al-Lamaye Halina, is a Chadian diplomat and statesman who has been serving as prime minister since 23 May 2024.
Early life and education
Allamaye Halina was born on 1 January 1967 in Gounou Gaya, Mayo-Kebbi Est.
He earned a bachelor's degree in history and geography from the University of N'Djamena in 1992. Subsequently, he continued his postgraduate education at the International Relations Institute of Cameroon and obtained a master's degree in international relations.
Political career
Halina was the Chief of Protocol for Chadian President Idriss Déby from 2010 to 2023. In 2023, he was appointed as an Ambassador of Chad to China.
On 23 May 2024, following the inauguration of President Mahamat Idriss Déby, Halina was designated as the Prime Minister of Chad.
Upon his appointment as prime minister, several analysts described Halina as a technician without political ambition, who would not compete with President Mahamat Idriss Déby. Halina remained loyal to Idriss Déby for a long time, and Mahamat Idriss Déby describes him as his "big brother."
