Alcorn County is a county located in the northeastern portion of the U.S. state of Mississippi. As of the 2020 census, the population was 34,740. Its county seat is Corinth. The county is named in honor of Governor James L. Alcorn.
The Corinth Micropolitan Statistical Area includes all of Alcorn County.

History
Alcorn County was formed on April 15, 1870, from portions of Tippah and Tishomingo counties. It was the site of the Siege of Corinth, an early campaign in the American Civil War.
Geography
According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 401 square miles (1,040 km2), of which 400 square miles (1,000 km2) is land and 1.3 square miles (3.4 km2) (0.3%) is water. It is the smallest county by area in Mississippi. The Tuscumbia and Hatchie rivers intersect the county.
