Airline Transport Pilot Licence facts for kids
The Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL) is the highest level of aviator qualification or license. Those certified as Airline Transport Pilots are authorized to act as pilot-in-command of an aircraft having a maximum weight over 12,500 pounds (5,700 kg) or having over 9 passenger seats.
Any pilot operating an aircraft for money must start by obtaining a Commercial pilot licence (CPL).
